The average summer temperatures reach over 100 degrees and the nightly lows in the 80’s. The winter is mild with temps in the 70’s and 80’s. The rainfall is very low, on average around 2 to 3 inches per year. The weather is usually sunny year round with most rainfall limited to winter.
Salton City is located in rural Northwest Imperial County, near the borders of San Diego and Riverside Counties. For example, the nearest major super market is about 30 miles away and the nearest major hospital is about the same distance. Residents of Salton City must commute some distance to reach certain destinations. The traffic is non-existent on those commutes so no frustrations with congestion.
